Aurea, 70m superyacht by Pininfarina and Rossinavi

A newly designed Rossinavi superyacht concept, the 70-metre Aurea by Pininfarina, was unveiled June 1st at the SuperYacht Gallery in London.

Aurea is the first collaboration between the Italian design firm and superyacht company Rossinavi, and she perfectly combines sea inspiration and tell-tale fluidity of Pininfarina’s iconic style.
Their superyacht project draws innovative and harmonious shapes wrapped around impressively arranged volumes. The superstructures, for instance, breaks the traditional bridge pattern simply overlapped in lateral view and tapered in frontal view. One of the goals of this ambitious superyacht concept was to expand the yachting experience in every part of Aurea.

Aura’s harmonious and dynamic shape is characterised by elegant helical bands that draw the superstructures linking the bridges, in an aesthetic innovation departing from the most common layered decks. The upper band frames the bridge and then goes downstairs, seamlessly joining the owner’s deck, creating an undulating and scenic effect that integrates the outer connecting staircases to the upper deck, where an helideck is expected.

Aurea’s diesel-electric propulsion is housed in the yacht’s centre, rather than at the stern, which allowed for a better layout arrangement of the common open-air areas.

Aurea’s stern includes a semicircular social area, two outdoor swimming pools, three large open decks and an additional water-level access on both sides of the hull.
Views on the surrounding seascape are one of the most remarkable characteristics of Aura: the upper deck features a terrace extending like a walkway, while the deck below has an alfresco dining table and a Jacuzzi located on the edge of the deck, both of them providing continuous and exceptional panoramas.

The clever management of the yachts volumes offers new opportunities to employ the spaces and to maximise the cruising feeling and the onboard experience.
The owner’s deck features large glass doors opening onto a terrace, giving the owners a private balcony to the bow area. The guest cabins also share a longitudinal private balcony with a folding bulwark to ensure privacy when cruising in harbours, and each cabin has its own large windows.
