Pleasure crafts are strategic for the Canadian economy

In Canada, sports crafts represent a well-developed sector. In this North America Country, there are several boat manufacturers that produce leisure and fishing boats and catamarans, besides the producers of accessories and resellers. Numerous are marinas, the centres for the vessel repair and maintenance, stores and schools related to marine and yacht clubs.

The results of a recent study dated 2015, released by the Canadian National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA), association that represents the sector interests of sports crafts in Canada, revealed that at least 12.4 million adults residing in the Country (43% of the population) lived experiences related to leisure boating.

Statistics diffused by this association indicate that boat owners were slightly rising in 2014: 41% of sailor owners had at least one sports craft, compared to 35.8% of the previous year.
