Dynamiq has recently unveiled details of its largest yacht to date, the new 50-metre fast-cruising motor yacht GTT 165.
Designed in collaboration with Dutch naval architecture firm Van Oossanen and Naiad Dynamics, the new GTT 165 features a lightweight and yet robust hull coming in a slender shape with long waterline length to promote speed, efficiency and stability at sea.
The yacht’s hull features a round-bilge shape for remarkably low resistance and low fuel consumption, while still being capable of high speeds. The design decreases vertical accelerations in the hull, which translates into a more comfortable motion when sailing. The bow shape with a vertical stem maximises the waterline length, enhancing performance. Built entirely from marine grade aluminium, the GTT 165 hull guarantees great comfort and safe operations.
Moreover, the Hull Vane, a patented fixed foil located below the stern of a ship, influences the stern wave pattern and creates hydrodynamic lift, which is partially oriented forward. This innovation leads to significant reduction of the hull’s resistance, which enables the installation of much smaller engines, fuel savings and longer range. The Hull Vane also improves stability under way and at anchor, while reducing both pitching and yawing motions.
Fitted with twin MTU V8 engines, the yacht will feature an oceanic range of 4000 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 17 knots. Owners can also choose an optional hybrid propulsion. A GTS version with a more powerful power plant to deliver a 25-knot top speed has also been thought about.
Additional technology features are the next-generation laminated XIR glass windows by Isoclima, an Italian high-tech company supplying glass for the luxury automotive sector. Such technology allows for maximum light transmission, while keeping solar heat gain at bay. The interior offers wide panoramas without the heat build-up, with significantly reduced air-conditioning loads and lower running costs.
Inside, the GTT 165 will be able to accommodate up to 12 guests across a five and six-cabin layout. Some of the most remarkable features for guests include a glass-covered beach club, a spa area which can be converted into a gym and a 20-metre-long sundeck for hosting large groups of guests that features a special raised lounge area forward to enjoy uninterrupted views from.
Dinamiq, a Monaco-based yacht builder, builds its state-of-the-art yachts at its facilities in Viareggio, Italy. Construction is expected to start towards the end of the year for a possible summer 2021 delivery.
